I've used the internet for the best part of a quarter of a century, and I've never written a blog post before.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines blog as:

A frequently updated website, typically run by a single person and consisting of personal observations arranged in chronological order, excerpts from other sources, hyperlinks to other sites, etc.; an online journal or diary

So that is what this blog will be: my personal observations in a chronological order.

In the Cambridge Dictionary, observe is defined as:

to watch carefully the way something happens or the way someone does something, especially in order to learn more about it

So what am I wanting to learn?

  1. How to build human/user interfaces for AI (codeword Compass)
  2. How to build AI services to turn human language into working technology solutions without needing to code (codeword Beacon)
  3. How to build the underlying technology systems that make the above two possible (codeword Obsidian)
What are these codewords? They're primarily to differentiate the three themes, and also pay tribute to what I intend to learn-and-build, what I'm calling Enderlytics:
  1. Compass for a web-based frontend for me and my family to be able to interact with...
  2. ...AI services (Beacon) that initially will create Minecraft mods and worlds from human language with zero code, which runs on...
  3. ...Obsidian as the underlying tools and technologies that make this all happen

So why am I writing this? Short answer is to keep my thinking sharp.

By being "forced" to write, I'm forced to think about what I am thinking: what may sound right in my head as a three-dimensional idea, may well turn out to be the wrong thing when its spelled out in very two-dimensional words.

What's next? I'll start at the beginning.

What's the beginning? I won't know until I write it out in the next post.
